As part of the lecture “Ethics, data science, and networked AI” by Prof. Dr. Berendt at the Technical University of Berlin, Hans-Christian Gräfe gave a guest lecture on 13 January. The goal was to provide an introduction to liability law for IT students. The main focus was on special aspects of civil law such as contractual, producer and product liability. Thereby, the background formed the relationship between ethics and regulation with regard to fundamental rights, laws and self-regulation. Starting with simple examples, the discussion in the end revolved around regulatory gaps and proposals with regard to AI technology.
